Zack O'Bryant

Zack O’Bryant’s music career began, like many, in high school where he played in school bands, church bands, and local garage bands. After his second season with Spirit of Atlanta in 2006, he joined the Marine Corps to be a performing member of “The Commandant’s Own” United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps. In his time there, Sergeant O’Bryant performed all across the country for celebrities, foreign heads-of-state, and three U.S. Presidents as well as performing abroad in Japan, France, and Canada. O’Bryant was honorably discharged in March of 2011 and started attending college at the University of North Alabama that same fall. During his time at UNA, Zack spent several semesters performing with the UNA marching band, wind ensemble, and jazz band. Mr. O’Bryant performed with the Shoals Symphony Orchestra for three seasons from 2012-2015 where he served as principal percussionist. In addition, after winning their Solo Artist Competition in 2015, Zack had the opportunity to perform a marimba concerto with the orchestra. He graduated from UNA with his Bachelors in Percussion Performance in 2015 and Masters in Music Education in 2017. O’Bryant is currently a percussionist in the Alabama winds as well as the assistant band director and director of percussion at Benjamin Russell High School in Alexander City, Alabama.
